Smart thinking....it's so important to know when to say no. Sounds like you are happy with that decision.

The soap looks yummy....love the idea of them being bridal favors. And seed paper idea: brilliant!Valeriehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16226371437929271405noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-30398829.post-21332881328559384422013-07-11T18:37:20.007-07:002013-07-11T18:37:20.007-07:00Like some others have said - you need to sley them...Like some others have said - you need to sley them more loosely. I did some fingering weight yarn as warp, and it was sett at 12 epi, and came out rather warp-faced. Fortunately the weft was silk, so it was still drapey.

Do a wrap test, and whatever it is, halve it for your sett. Especially with handspun. I have a feeling that had the warp been spaced more widely, your handspun would have looked fine.

I miss your soap...Laurahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08421589409738817614noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-30398829.post-20832637190868037012013-07-11T13:41:12.922-07:002013-07-11T13:41:12.922-07:00Hallo,do not try to weave so tight.

I can remember the first scarf I ever wove back in 1986 - it could have stood straight up by itself and the wool was itchy as all get out.....Sam never wore it and I can't blame him.Cindie https://www.blogger.com/profile/00417973211775970549noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-30398829.post-84392970937595684032013-07-11T05:46:48.656-07:002013-07-11T05:46:48.656-07:00When I do scarves, I mix up the warp.......a littl...When I do scarves, I mix up the warp.......a little of this, a little of that........I sley usually at 10epi......or wrap it around a ruler....to see what it will look like, but 10 is usually where I end up......less if you are using thicker yarns......yes, aim for flimsy looking on the loom.
