I stopped by the Life and Health Science Library last time I was on campus. This is posted in the window of the front door. I'm told that all the Ag libraries are required to post it. Doncha wonder what the story is behind this requirement??
Not required, but usually necessary. Especially if you want to keep your custodians from quitting. Happily our library has seen a decrease in spitting activity.
One would think some things would go without saying: Spitting in a library. Who would think that's ok? Then again, I'm naive enough to think not talking on a cell phone in a library should be obvious. Apparently not.
I've been trying to catch up on posts since my DH comandeered the computer room this past weekend...I had to laugh at the ice cube and this sign. Sounds like something that'd happen here. We still are allowed to carry guns, in the open, right down the middle of town, but store will post no firearm regulations on doors. We got 6" of snow from that storm system, bringing with it white out conditions that caused a 100+ car pile-up on I10. Glad I stayed home.
I see that you have Betty MacDonald's book The Egg and I in your library. I reread this book recently - it really is a gem isn't it. Just a few days ago I happened to catch a BBC radio broadcast about Betty. The reference is on my blog.
Unfortunately, I don't need to wonder one bit... those who work outdoors where things might catch on fire (be it hay or trees) tend to take up this nasty habit instead of lighting up.

I need one of those since I have two spitters that visit. Often.

Doesn't say much about farmers, does it!
