January Update

We babysat grandkids last night and gave our kids a chance to have a fun night out. They've had a lot to deal with these past five weeks and we all have our fingers crossed for a might fine 2009.
Ian walked up to greet us as we were just finishing our walk. The black dog is our neighbors' dog though she does seem to be living with us. We don't see the neighbors much because they don't seem be here much. It's a bit weird.
It has been unsea-
sonably warm so I decided to take advantage of it and spend the afternoon knitting on the deck. It's January 17th and we should be buried in snow.

How warm was it? Too warm for shoes and socks.

I'm so homesick for the desert now. Especially after the cold we've had and seeing your gorgeous pictures. :-)

Whatever cold weather you were supposed to have, we have got it here on the east coast. Yesterday, it was warmer in Anchorage than here in VA Bch. What's up with that?? It might snow tonight or tomorrow. I am praying it does so we one more day at home to recover from wicked colds. Either way, I am still praying for snow. Wasn't it nice to knit outside barefooted though?

Don't you just love the warm weather! I'm not going to dwell on the fact that we need moisture just yet. We never barbeque in the winter till now. Friday Bob came home to the scent of lamb burgers on the grill.

That is SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO unfair! We're burning wood at record speeds, and we're on the East Coast and not the Mid-West. However, I am happy for you. I think. Hmmmm, yes I am. Because I'm a nice person. According to me. Don't ask anyone else. 'K?

No snow? We're actually expecting some tonight. Up to 2 inches! That's a monstrous amount for us.
