Colors of February

Sue has called for the colors of the month. Our valley once was the historic Dickinson Ranch and this small farm house was the headquarters. It's unoccupied now and not likely to be lived in again. I read Judy Dickinson's oral history and am fascinated at all the big living that went on in that small house.
The approach to the original house is lined by ranch posts and barbed wire.
The Dickinsons hired a man to tap several mountain springs so they could collect the water for their use and for their livestock. This pond is their legacy. It was a gorgeous day so I collected some photos of our valley today for my colors.

High school bus stop.

Day is done in Big Sky Country.

Beautiful! You really do have big skies out there, don't you?

I was surprised that you don't have snow on the ground, but I guess with your recent warm weather that shouldn't be so surprising.

Thanks for showing that there is color somewhere in the world in February!!

I loved the cloud and sky pictures. Our skies here are filled with jets from the Navy base and commercial planes from the local airport. Not as exciting to me as those wonderful clouds. Living in the city we don't seem to see as many stars either; too many city lights. I do miss the wide open spaces and the stars.

Where's that old house relative to yours? Not sure if I've ever seen it...

How far away are those mountains? With the air so clear, you can see them very well. I can see why it is called Big Sky Country.

The clouds are lovely. We have big sky here, too. But the sky has lately been as grey as everything else.
