Plaid Lap Robe

It's finished and drying on the balcony. It's quite apparent that need to work on weaving plaid by the obvious, glaring errors.

The colors are from these four boys and my biggest surprise in how chocolate brown Ollie's fleece is. He's on one right in the center.

Charlie tested it last night when I was sewing in the ends and declared that it works just fine.

Sharon, what a treasure! Irregular plaids are OK! How did you like weaving with your handspun?

It's lovely! and doubly special since it comes from the boys.

I absolutely loved spinning with my handspun and think the next lap robe will be for my brother. I have a couple of fleeces from his flock. The handspun warp is stickly so I'll have to size it before putting it on the loom next time. That's just one of the things I learned!

That's encouraging. I've yet to weave from my handspun but you make it look easy!

Didja make it fur Charlie? I fink him looks furry handsome layin' there on it.

What errors? I think it is absolutely beautiful and the irregularities were intentional, weren't they:-)

How wonderful to use the natural colors from your own sheep! All I've made from my own Shetland are a couple Kool-Aid-dyed, fulled handbags. I need to wash and spin some more of my own....

Charlie looks just like my Bennie!!! I love the plaid with your handspun. It's the errors in weaving that add charm. I want to weave some towels on my small rigid heddle .
