Early in November I dyed up a pound of yarn in my oven, using four related color pathways which I blogged about here. I hadn't planned any colors when I started but apparently my mind was stuck in a violet mode. I'll look for ideas outside my head when I dye the next batch.

I finished spinning, washing and fulling the skeins yesterday. The good news is that they all can be used together. The bad news is that they really aren't very different. I have Deb Menz's Color Works book on the sofa with me and am thinking about color, color color, but different color. I'll be looking at my Photoshop results too.

For years I've been asked if I sell my handspun and I have emphatically said no. I've decided to put these skeins in my Etsy store and see what happens, because I have one guaranted customer. Me.

Thanksgiving snuck up on me this year. We always go up here the day after to cut Christmas trees, and this year it appears that we will have to deal with mud and snow. That's five days from now!

Afterwards we go to a small cafe in Chilcoot for breakfast, but it's going to be bittersweet. It's the last year for DS Josh and his family as the moving van cometh on December 1st.

Beautiful yarn Sharon, I like the colors. I'm sure you'll have another ready buyer or two on etsy!
Old traditions are hard to give up, especially wonderful ones, but maybe new just as wonderful ones will replace them. :-)

Ooo, lovely! Beautiful colors and nicely spun.

Hard to believe the year has flown by, isn't it? I'm not sure what I'll do for my handmade Christmas gifts this year. I hope everyone on my list likes pickles and jellies.

It's interesting to me how the dyed wool looks so varied in color, then when it gets spun it looks more similar.

A snow picture. Preparing me mentally for snow which might arrive here next week. This week we have a solid week of grey and rain in the forecast. Ugh! I guess that's to make snow seem more welcome when it arrives!

The skeins are beautiful. It's funny how we gravitate toward purples when we reach our age bracket. I keep reminding myself to try other colors while painting.

Beautifully spun and the colors will blend well together. The fun thing about dyeing is the lessons you learn as you go.
Your Thanksgiving tradition sounds wonderful!

I love the violet shades! Purple is everywhere this fall -- apparently it's the hot color (I learned this from the magazines at my hairdresser's).

Happy almost Thanksgiving!

Pumpkin! Prussian blue! Rose! Ok, now I'm out of ideas... But those would all go with all of your skeins. I'll prove it to you this weekend!!
